The power of yesterday

There are moments we always wish not to remember
Days we want to call yesterday
To be gone and forgotten forever
The days whose memories we don’t want to associate with
We wish that they didn’t happen
As we try very hard to curtain the memories

Yet as always
The memories remain vivid
The images of each moment persist with sheer stubbornness
No matter how hard we try to get rid of them
No matter the number of years that pass with good tidings
As they say that time heals wounds
But they run down the drain, making each memory fresh.

This is the power of yesterday
That propels us to live today
And to see the best of the tomorrow
Though the memories will always abide in us
Though the moments will always echo in within us
We will come in term with each single one of them
And eventually cherish its holdings
Each day of our lives.
